Chief Happiness Officer - Chico
Meet
Chico Meisel
Every healing center needs someone whose only job is to make people smile. We found ours.
Meet Chico—a one-year-old Bernedoodle, Dr. Lonnie Meisel's constant companion, beloved member of the Quantum Resonant Healing Center family, and the Center's official Chief Happiness Officer.
His qualifications?
An extraordinary ability to make people smile.
An unlimited supply of affection.
Two incredibly soulful eyes.
And a firm belief that every person entering the Center owes him the Belly Scratch Tax.

How Chico Found Dr. Meisel
Sometimes the people—or animals—who change our lives arrive when we least expect them.
After spending nearly two years without a dog in his life, Dr. Meisel realized something was missing.
He called one of his patients and asked a simple question:
“Can you help me find a Bernedoodle?”
Within an hour, there was Chico.
A breeder in New York whom the patient had known for years had a puppy waiting.
That weekend, Dr. Meisel flew to New York.
And brought Chico home.
But their story didn't become a love story overnight.
Chico needed time.
For approximately three weeks, the two slowly learned one another.
Then one day, Dr. Meisel looked at the little puppy and said:
“Chico, come to me.”
He came.
The name stayed.
And somewhere along the way...
so did Chico.
Today, the two are nearly inseparable.
“I thank Chico every day for coming into my life.”
— Dr. Lonnie Meisel
The Chief Happiness Officer Reports to Duty!
Chico wakes up every morning ready to go to work.
He takes his position very seriously.
His typical workday includes greeting the team, eating his freshly cooked egg, making his morning rounds for hugs and kisses, inspecting the windows, welcoming patients, occasionally assisting Dr. Meisel in examination rooms, and maintaining staff morale.
When patients arrive, Chico doesn't greet them like strangers.
He greets them like family.
And then he usually rolls over.
This is not optional.
RUFF-LISH TRANSLATION
“Welcome. Belly Scratch Tax now due.”
What Exaclty is Ruff-ish?
Ruff-lish is Chico's native language.
There are very few words.
Mostly because Chico doesn't need them.
If you've spent enough time around him, you begin understanding exactly what he's saying.
THE CHICO LOOK
Those big soulful eyes staring directly at you:
“You love Chico. Chico already know.”
PAW ON DAD
“Walk meeting starts now.”
ROLLS ONTO HIS BACK
“Belly Scratch Tax due.”
HEAD UNDER DAD'S CHIN
“Dad. Chico loves you.”
SOCK IN HIS MOUTH
“Thank you for your donation.”
BARKING AT THE WINDOW
“Security Department activated.”
HEAD OUT THE CAR WINDOW
“Dad drives. Chico navigates.”
JUMPS ON THE EXAMINATION TABLE
“Dr. Meisel... Chico ready for checkup.”
And then there's the little vocal yawn Chico makes when he wants affection.
We haven't successfully translated that one yet.
But somehow...
Dr. Meisel always knows.
The Belly Scratch Tax
There are very few mandatory fees at the Quantum Resonant Healing Center imposed by Chico.
Actually...
there's only one.
The Belly Scratch Tax.
When Chico greets you and rolls onto his back, payment is immediately due.
Acceptable forms of payment include:
Belly scratches.
Head scratches.
Hugs.
Kisses.
Additional scratches.
Chico does not currently accept credit cards.
Chico’s Very Important Meeting with a Log
Natalia from EMF Gone gave Chico one of his favorite stuffed toys—a soft toy shaped like a tree log.
Naturally, Chico brought it to work.
And naturally...
it eventually made its way onto the examination table.
RUFF-LISH TRANSLATION:
“Chico busy. Important meeting with log.”
Some meetings cannot be rescheduled.
Why Chico Matters
There's a serious side to Chico's story.
People don't always arrive at the Quantum Resonant Healing Center on their best day.
Some have been struggling with their health for years.
Some are frightened.
Some are exhausted.
Some have traveled a very long way searching for help.
And then they walk through our doors...
and Chico greets them.
He doesn't know their diagnosis.
He doesn't know how long they've been struggling.
He doesn't know what happened yesterday.
He just knows they're here.
So he loves them.
And sometimes that's exactly what the room needed.
Dr. Meisel designed the Quantum Resonant Healing Center around an important idea:
The patient and their family should feel cared for.
Chico somehow understood that philosophy without anyone ever teaching it to him.
Maybe that's why the title fits.
Chief Happiness Officer.
Chico After Hours
When Chico isn't working, he's still busy.
He loves long walks.
He loves the beach.
He especially loves digging holes in the sand.
He's athletic, curious and endlessly social.
When he encounters another dog, Chico wants to make a new friend.
Even if the other dog barks at him, Chico will often roll over submissively and invite the dog to play.
Because in Chico's world...
a stranger is usually just a friend who hasn't met Chico yet.
And yes...
he still wakes Dad around 7:00 a.m.
Every morning.
Chief Happiness Officers apparently don't observe weekends.
One More Member of the Family
There's one final indication of just how important Chico has become.
When Dr. Meisel's mother calls him, her first words are often not:
“Hello, Lonnie. How are you?”
They're:
“How is my Chico?”
Followed closely by:
“I want to kiss him and squeeze him. I miss my Chico.”
Dr. Meisel has accepted his new position in the family hierarchy.
Chico appears to be very comfortable with the arrangement.
Come Meet Chico!
If you're visiting the Quantum Resonant Healing Center, there's a very good chance our Chief Happiness Officer will be here to welcome you.
Just remember...
Belly Scratch Tax due upon arrival.
Rufffully yours,
Chico Meisel
